The Jeollanam-do Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation announced on the 20th that it had received a 30 million KRW scholarship donation from Hanmaek Total to support local talent development.
The donation ceremony was attended by Chairman Kim Yung-rok and Kang Byung-jin, CEO of Hanmaek Total
Since its founding, Hanmaek Total has established landfill facilities in the Poseung National Industrial Complex in Pyeongtaek (2000) and the Yulchon Industrial Complex 1 in Suncheon (2005), where it processes industrial waste from manufacturing companies.
In particular, the company contributes to environmental protection by managing waste generated from local industrial areas such as Yulchon and Gwangyang.
Chairman Kim Yung-rok commented,
“As the year ends, these scholarship donations play a crucial role in fostering the future talent that will lead Jeollanam-do. We will ensure the funds are put to meaningful use.”
The Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation supported 5,603 graduating university students in the province this year with 3.36 billion KRW in scholarships, helping those impacted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and economic slowdown.
The foundation also introduced the “Jeonnam Love Scholarship” this year, aimed at supporting students who, or whose guardians, hold the Jeonnam Love Resident Card — further expanding its scholarship programs.
